		<description>I always wondered about the value of a Sanchez or Enrique Wilson, etc. To have them play the last few innings of a game is no biggie. But, if you had to play them for a month, well, that&#039;s painful. So, the question is - if the only positive they offer is insurance over the last copule of innings of a game, why carry them at all?

		<description>&quot;However, if a trade is in the works having Womack come off the bench at least makes the bench somewhat better than it is.&quot;

Yep--one of the things not discussed in all of this (and, by the way, your observation about Giambi tying up three roster spots for 1B is spot on) is the need to jettison Rey Sanchez. The Yankees have two worthless IF players (Sanchez and Womack), but at least Womack can play a little OF and he has speed. If the Yankees go with Cano at 2B and they trade for an OF, then Womack should be on the bench rather than Sanchez. But dear God, please not both of them (though a bench with Flaherty, Crosby, Womack, and Sanchez might be historic in its craptacularity).

		<description>Agreed JJay. Womack might not like a UT role - but, it&#039;s the best for the team.

I have to think that the Royals, Reds, Rockies, or Pirates have an OF that they could be talked into dealing - and that would help the Yankees OF situation.

		<description>I&#039;m in total agreement with Womack in LF. There is just no possible way that this can be a permanent solution.

However, if a trade is in the works having Womack come off the bench at least makes the bench somewhat better than it is.
