FWIW, A-Rod did say something like that he was too worried about his D last year and it carried to the plate. And, he is hitting much better this year………Paul D, in Moneyball, said this is the way to go……right?

Because SL has gone all James Lileks on us and put pictures of his children up today, and because this is a classy weblog, I will restrain my criticism of Yankees management to the following analogy:

It’s very hard to admit a mistake. Giambi was an artificially inflated (literally) asset that must be written off. I am in shock that Tino did not play yesterday.

The best player (certainly for the last month) is not playing due to non-baseball reasons. It does not reflect well on the Yankees.
