Number of managers hired, last ten years:
Cincinnati Reds: 5
New York Yankees: 1
Yeah, that Big Stein is a firing mad man.

Ok, now run the numbers since ’73
Yankees and Reds have both had 14 different managers since 1973.
The Yanks have been to six WS under Torre and to the post season every year, winning the AL East all but one of those years.
Is it Torre’s fault that Randy Johnson blew up on the team tonight (what else is new)? RJ is nearly 42, the end of the line may be near for him [RJ].
Is it Torre’s fault that this is an old team in general, saddled with a shell-of-a-Giambi who is owed how much money? Or a Sheffield who looks like a very old man in RF? Kevin Brown? Etc.
There is age almost everwhere on this team. Starting staff, one-two guys in the bullpen, etc.
Can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Oink-oink!
This has NOTHING to do with the topic at all but I gotta vent…
Tony Womack should not be on a Major League Baseball team. A second baseman playing in LF with an OBP of .275 and absolutely NO power has no place in the MLB, let alone batting 2nd for the New York Yankees.
I really get tired of people saying, “Randy Johnson sure didn’t look like himself tonight,” when in all reality he’s looked like this numerous times this year.
And to get back on topic just a little…please fire someone.
