This is just by eyeballing some game logs, but, I think the Yankees are 9-1 in the last ten games where Flash was allowed to catch the whole game. Maybe I missed a game or two, I dunno? But, still, even if it’s 9-3 instead of 9-1, it’s still impressive.

I might be crazy here, but I’ve been getting the feeling that Posada has been more of a detriment to this team than even Tony Womack. His game calling seems to be pretty bad (this could be from the influence of Mel, but it seems like a lot of home runs come on 0-2 counts), his hitting has been pretty bad (not that Flaherty’s is worth a crap), and his defense has been awful in almost every facet. I like the guy, but I find him tough to watch. But I’m probably crazy here.
On Womack and Flaherty, see http://mikesrants.baseballtoaster.com/archives/230613.html .
I forgot to mention his atrocious baserunning. And here he goes again…
They mentioned today that Posada was batting .193 since July 1st.
Maybe it’s time for John to catch more often than every 5 days. Bat be damned, at least he’s better behind the dish.
