The Price Of The First Half

Since July 2nd, the Yankees are playing .652 baseball. From that same point, the Red Sox are playing .600.
It’s really too bad that the Yankees can’t mulligan the first three months of this season – or add another two or three months to the end of the schedule.

The nice things about baseball is the season’s length, Steve. Nine times out of ten, a team ends up directly where it deserves to be. Not because of how they played, but rather the consistency at which they do so. If a team is consistently inconsistent, their record will indicate such.
