Torre was too busy asking the ump why his Subway sandwich wasn't fresh-toasted.

The notion that one guy's 40-plus HRs and 110-plus RBIs are any less valuable than another's is bunk. Throw in A-Rod ability to win games with his smarts on the bases, speed and defense and you have a clearly more complete player than Ortiz.

Why should Torre get run? How exactly does that help? If the players need that to "pump themselves up," then they have bigger problems on their hands. They're trailing in both the divisional & WC standings. Both are within reach. THAT'S their motivation.

Felix came in b/c they were up by 6.

Sterling mentioned something about a "Gentleman's Agreement" WRT running up the score. I say screw that. Unless they're going to end the game right then and there, run up the score until the final out.

Anyone else hear "f--king bulls--t" before RJ got tossed? (:. I was suprised Culbreth didn't tell him to "knock it off"

I'm with you hop. Why bother even going out there if all you're going to do is say "Are you sure?" or something like that?

Bozo - I'm getting the numbers from here: http://riot.ieor.berkeley.edu/~baseball/american_league.html

I think the catch is that Boston has one less game.

Why does Torre arguing with an ump always look like he's making a dinner reservation when he should be reacting like Della Reese to Eddie Murphy in Harlem Nights?

Steve I'm not sure I understand, but how can 15 be the magic number for the Yankees, if they trail by 1 in the loss column and they have 16 games to go? I would figure the magic number would have to be 17? Tell me what I'm missing.
