The notion that one guy’s 40-plus HRs and 110-plus RBIs are any less valuable than another’s is bunk. Throw in A-Rod ability to win games with his smarts on the bases, speed and defense and you have a clearly more complete player than Ortiz.

Why should Torre get run? How exactly does that help? If the players need that to “pump themselves up,” then they have bigger problems on their hands. They’re trailing in both the divisional & WC standings. Both are within reach. THAT’S their motivation.

Steve I’m not sure I understand, but how can 15 be the magic number for the Yankees, if they trail by 1 in the loss column and they have 16 games to go? I would figure the magic number would have to be 17? Tell me what I’m missing.
