//are you expecting this team to run-the-board?//

Don, no. That's why I noted that "the sun does not shine on the same dog's ass everyday."

It is starting to look doubtful - because of all those home games for the Sox. But, you never know!

Yeah, all that non-clutch hitting was Torre's fault too. Was that 15 LOB?

Or are you expecting this team to run-the-board? I still doubt they'll make the post season.

Does anything that Joe does in terms of pitcher handling shock you anymore? For at least 3 years, he's been terrible there in big spots. Today was nothing new.

Wright was awful today and then he got hit again. Does being a "player's manager" mean that a manager runs his team with the interests of the players placed above the interests of the team...always? I recognize the need for every manager to be a good psychologist, to encourage, and protect the egos of his players. But what was Wright still doing on the mound after giving up 4 runs, 6 hits, and sustaining further mortar fire from the batter's box? In the first inning, Torre could have taken Wright out and gotten Small as much time to warm up as he needed because of an injury. In the second inning, regardless, has Torre never heard of stalling? Giambi, Posada, and Mel could have paid their respects to Wright in consecutive order while Small heated up in the pen. Why must this man always wait until there's bases loaded before bringing someone in? Doesn't he realize that he doesn't have 6 Ryne Durens in the bullpen? Even without the bad error from Cano, can you expect anything more than holding the Jays to 2 runs in that situation? With two on, he could have prayed for Small to induce the ground ball double play. Did he envision him striking out the side?
