[mccarver]I think the team that wins the last game of the series will have a very good chance to win the whole series.[/mccarver]

[morgan]I don't care what the statistics say about who won which game. Statistics don't play the game. Wins and losses play the game and whoever plays the game and gets the most of those wins and losses wins the series and that's how you know who the winner is and who the loser is.[/morgan]

[scooter]I'm telling you, that's some cannoli.[/scooter]

"This Friday is going to be a very important game for the Yankees to win"

you think? Which playoff game isn't very important?
=====================

Exactly. While it may not be guaranteed, I'd feel better with a 2-1 lead instead of being down 1-2 in a series

I don't have a story - no superstitions - but I hope she mentions WW in her article.

What an interesting approach for a journalist to take - posting in baseball blogs to find people for a baseball story. Makes a lot of sense, in retrospect. I'm glad to see people are thinking differently than just going to the old rolodex (as my hometown paper did every time a story about Yankee fans came out - it was always the same people!).

With rain looming on Friday, its a shame that FOX will never allow the game to be moved to the afternoon. Sigh.

The weather is going to be a problem Friday night (as mentioned elsewhere) and Saturday afternoon. They may have to play through rain Friday night and with RJ on the mound that is worrisome. Saturday looks like very heavy rain, only when will it arrive. Some forecasters are saying around 6PM Saturday but some are saying earlier.

"This Friday is going to be a very important game for the Yankees to win"

Reminds me of that scene in A Few Good Men

"I Object"
"Overruled"
"I Strenuouly object"
"Oh well- OK...sustained"

add in the fact that Johnson is pitching, and if we lose, we get Colon in Game 5, rather than game 4....more like vitally important

Looks to me like the team that won Game 2 won every one of those series. Bad sign.

I am a reporter for Newsday looking to speak with a major Yankee fan about any superstitions you may heed while watching games. I have spoken to one person who eats popsicle sticks during winning streaks and another who leans on a particular elbow--you get the drift. 5-minute phone conversation TODAY and your superstition will be printed in the paper. Please call at
212-251-6902.
