good vs. evil, favorites vs. underdog, whatever, because the Yanks have won so many times over the years... I couldn't care less either way.

Anyone who has watched the Yanks this year will know that the Yanks got this far DESPITE having a 200M+ payroll, not because of it.

Because, The hatred for the Yanks fueled by the MSM is palapable. Check the papers today, almost every story has the phrase, 203 million dollars. To the so-called baseball purists, is poetic justice that the Yanks go down. Of course we have the "journalists over at ESPN" that can barely hide their affection for the Red Sox, contributing to the cause of good triumphing over evil.
Lets face it, what did the money get the Yanks, some bad decisions over the winter, and some bad breaks, i.e.injuries left the team struggling most of the year.
I have been a Yankee fan for over 50 years, they can all go pound sand. Fox won't be to happy seeing a Anaheim, St. Louis World Series, and I mean no disrespect for those teams. The Yanks drive the sport, they bring in the fans and the revenue. Love them are hate them, they will always be good for the game of Baseball, despite what Selig thinks!
