    At this moment, I cannot stop from wondering how Terry Whitfield becomes Matt Winters. (Yes, I know there’s a Marty Perez and Mike Torrez sandwiched in there.)

    Yup, I have it bad.

      Whitfield was drafted by the Yanks, traded to the SF Giants in 1977 for Perez. Perez was traded to Oakland a month later for Mike Torrez. The chain ends there. Matt Winters was drafted by the Yanks in 1978.

      Winters was drafted with the 1st round comp pick for losing Torrez.
