Jason Giambi yesterday mocked claims in the book “Game of Shadows” that he took steroids in an attempt to please his demanding father.
“It’s pretty pathetic to drag my father into it,” Giambi said. “Give me a break.”
What happened to the good ol’ days when “Hey, Dad, you wanna have a catch?” was enough to please a Dad?
Great, now I got the theme stuck in my head…
The authors claim that the book doesn’t draw a connection between his dad and his steroid use.

Has anyone read the book? I’d be curious as to if any of this thorough reasearch turned up any names that weren’t high profile players that had already been implicated. If Joe CupofCoffee were profiled in the same depth as, say Giambi, for how his PED use got him 15 days in the majors, I’d give the book slightly more credibility (pushing it up to almost the level of the Enquirer and the Weekly World News).
yeah, credibility might seem important, but selling books is more important than that,
