Twenty four days into the donation drive, we’ve had 31 folks help out so far. Thanks to all involved, again, for that!
But, this is much less than what I had hoped for on this effort (considering how many read this blog).

We’re talking a few bucks for a whole year of news/entertainment. You pay 5-6 times that to see a bad movie. How many CDs have you bought for $20 with only one song you liked, and you don’t even listen to that one anymore? (Steve - insert a cute, but sad-eyed picture of your “starving” children here) For just dollars a year, you can make a difference.

Maybe if I “raffled” off two tickets to a Yankees game (face value $110) this year I would get more takers?
I did that once at work - for a day game. It was $5 a chance.
When you can maybe get $110 tickets for just $5, it’s not a bad deal - and, the potential loss of $5 was worth the risk for many. IIRC, I got my $110 back on that idea (then).
