I think you overestimate. I’m sure they have 1st class arrangements, and get around a lot easier than the “great unwashed,” namely you and me.

The only difference is that they have 5 less hours to do whatever it is they do on the road, be it chase women, read the bible, shop, or whatever it is that ballplayers do during their down time.

Still, there’s a big difference between checking in at 6 pm in Tampa than checking it at 11 pm. Plus, the players had to dress, undress, pack, etc.

After all, why call the game at three o’clock and let the Yankees get on their way, and be rested, for Tampa?

If they don’t play, they’re rested. They get chartered everywhere they go. The only time players get behind the wheel is on the drive home, and even that isn’t guaranteed.
