You guys arew funny - and dead on!

Jeremy - it's interesting. The reaction that my 9-year-old is having is the same reaction that we got from our 1st dog, then age 3, when the 9-yr-old was a pup (and joined the family) "If I don't look at that puppy, it's not really there."

I guess it's god karma or something.

He wants to just push buttons. However the console keeps flashing red and yellow lights and he doesn't know how to stop them. Jane, stop this crazy thing!

Cute dog, Steve.

Pitching is key with any team, and if Randy Johnson can shake his funk and Torre can leave Wang alone enough for him to get comfortable and pitch well, the Yankees are in good shape.

Weirdly, I worry less about Wang than I do Johnson. It's just that when he doesn't have his stuff -- which has happened a lot of these last two years -- he seems to be unable to get ANYONE out. This guy has no idea how to grind.

Anyway, it was a nice win. It's good to see A-Rod is back on track. Before this Texas series, the offense was mostly Damon, Jeter, Giambi and Cano. Sheff was hurt and inconsistent, and neither Matsui or A-Rod were hitting (Matsui did hit in Tampa, though). When this lineup, top to bottom, gets healthy and hot, it'll be mashing time.

Unbelievably, Torre panicked again last night, rushing Farnsworth up and having him warm up, just because Proctor let a few men on. He needs to chill the hell out. It's no wonder his relief pitchers implode -- they know one mistake, even in a blowout, will get them yanked. No one mismanages blowouts like Torre; he turns them into white-knuckle events by constantly warming up and running in new pitchers.

This game was pretty good win for the Yankees, solid defense, good pitching, everyone hitting and making things happen, and the big hitters come through in clutch.

I espically like the defense part. although it probably had a little to do with Jedi Master Chacon using the force again I like how everyone hustles and make plays out there now, the Yankees still don't have a great lineup of defensive players (evident in Giambi diving and missing a ball hit right next to him) but at the same time they are playing very fundementally sound and hard to make up for it.

Hope Wang can turn it around tomrrow, then we REALLY have something going.

Congrats on the new dog. Cute little guy but aren't they all? Took us awhile to get our Boston and Scottie not to kill each other, but they tolerate each other now. Good luck!
