Isn’t even the dirt of Mattingly. Or the 1996-2000 team. They redid the field a few years back when George spent millions putting in that new drainage system.

I’d buy some too.

Beware the awesome power of Kevin Mmahat!

I read somewhere that ground hasn’t even been broken yet for the new Stadium, and that it can’t until the National Park Service gives their OK. And that the NPS hasn’t even gotten the app to review yet. Am I deluded in thinking the new Stadium might not get off the ground, or just overly hopeful? I still think a renovation/complete rebuild on the current land would be best, but I’m sentimental like that.

It might not be the Babe’s dirt, or the Mick’s dirt, but it sure is Jeter’s dirt, and Mattingly’s dirt, and Randolph’s dirt, and Bernie’s dirt, and Guidry’s dirt, and so on. That’s some damn fine dirt if you ask me. If the new Stadium is built, I hope they bring along some old dirt.

The way things go these days, they might even try to sell bits of the old dirt. I’m probably crazy enough to buy some.

The field was totally dug up in the 1970′s when they ‘rebuilt’ the Stadium. It isn’t the ‘dirt’ Babe, Lou G, Joe D or the Mick played on……
