    From the Florida Marlins site:

As for all the speculation, once again, [Dontrelle] Willis isn’t a free agent until after the 2009 season. There is no urgency to trade him from within the organization. Yes, the Marlins will listen to offers because they feel obligated to see what might be out there. To give you an example of what it might take to get Willis, consider this possible offer that was mentioned by league sources recently. One source said the Yankees were told it would take Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera and Chien-Ming Wang to land Willis. The Yankees, according to a source, said no thanks.

    Cano, Cabrera, and Wang.

Thanks Marlins, it’s Monday and I needed a laugh today.

Ah, so the Marlins are jokesters, not jokes. I get it now. I’m surprised they didn’t demand Rivera and Jeter too.

Why not throw Hughes in there, too? If the Marlins really want to rape the Yankees for Willis, they have to take Wang out of their plans, because trading Wang for Willis doesn’t help the Yankees.

Only if we expand it to a three-way deal so the Yanks can get Sanders for Hughes and maybe throw in Cox and Tabata as well.

If the Yanks trade Wang or Cano at this point, they deserve to repeat the 90 and 91 years again and again.

If we throw in Torre and they give us a outfielder I might consider it 😉
