Let’s face it: This is a team full of MVPs right now. But lets keep our eye on the ball. Still 39 to go. If we gained 10 1/2 in 42 games, the Sox can gain 6 1/2 in 39. Of course, I think it’s extremely doubtful given this current Yankee team, which really looks special and the Yanks I’m sure will keep their focus.

It’s a complete team effort. but if i have to pick one guy… it’s probably Proctor.

Definitely like that #15… missing the ol’ capt as usual…. my vote goes to Damon for starting off the series swingin’ like a madman. I feel like he was the one who set the tone and then the rest followed….

MVP’s…Proctor for shear guts (honorable mention to Villone); Cabrerra for coming of age; Cano for playing like a 10 year veteran; Bobby A. for ending the myth about there needing to be an adjustment period to play in NY; Giambi and Damon for understanding the meaning of “Prime Time”; and, of course, DJ for setting the standard with hits that turned two of the games in late and close situations. Are you listening A-Rod?. Tip of the hat to Mo and Jorge as well.

Anyone else feel bad for Wells? Not that I wanted him to win, but he didn’t deserve the L, either. And that was not a wild pitch on Foulke – it was clearly a passed ball.

There’s no question who the series MVP was: Boston’s pitching.

Without that garbage (save Boomer) the 5-game sweep would not have been possible.

What was even more thrilling was that the Yankees beat the Red Sox every which way you can: slugfest, late-inning comeback (in a game pitched by their two best pitchers no less), a one-run pitcher’s duel, and they did it with power, speed, defense, clutch hitting, and, contrary to Dan Shaughnessy’s worthless opinion, an effective bullpen that left their guts on the battlefield, throwing more pitches than anyone should ever have to in 4 day period. They simply would not be denied.

Co-mvps: Damon, Abreu, and Proctor.

Before this weekend, the Yankees had swept the Red Sox in a five-game series at Fenway Park just twice in their history, doing so in 1927 and 1943. They won the World Series in both of those years.

Proctor mvp….yea maybe. Needless this will go down as a great Yankee memory almost up there with the 2004 Game 1 ALCS game i went too.
