Final Post-Season Touch?

This time last year, the Yankees picked up Matt Lawton and Mark Bellhorn via deals. And, I’m wondering if New York will pull a pre-August-31st-post-season-roster-deadline deal again this season?
If I had to guess, pitching would be of interest. But, what are the odds of some decent pitcher passing through waivers?

Do you consider Jamie Moyer, Evan Meek (“Devil Rays Trade for Meek”- best unseen headline all year), Guillermo Mota, Scott Schoenwies, Ryan Franklin and Livan Hernandez decent? Or did you mean that there isn’t anyone decent AFTER those quality, quality pitching specimens?
FWIW, I would take Jamie Moyer over Jaret Wright now.
Steve, that would take innings away from Ron Villone. Now, do we really need to do that?
Consider that the Angels DFA’ed Jeff Weaver. And consider that the St. Louis Cardinals, preseason favorites in the NL, had to pick him up. The odds of a decent pitcher clearing waivers is (are?) zero. And that’s only because you can’t really go below zero odds.
latroy hawkins wouldnt be bad
Latroy Hawkins? You’re kidding, right?
Latroy Hawkins………………?
Oh, that Latroy Hawkins.
You are kidding!
he used to be good, and if you put him on the red sox, he probably becomes good again, and since he already cleared waivers, why not just give them cash for him and if hes so bad, just store him on the dl like the red sox usually do.
Wouldnt he be better suited on a september roster than a guy like T.J. c*cksucker Beam

==============
I’d rather have Beam. I’d rather have a young cheap pitcher getting shelled than an old expensive one. Not to mention there’s the chance that Beam will get better. With Hawkins, WYSIWYG
Putting aside how much $ Hawkins makes, which i dont know right now, you have it the other way around. Hawkins could become good again coming to a team in the middle of a meaningful stretch run, and Beam will NEVER get any better b/c he either cant or is too stupid to throw strikes even when were up like 8 runs v the red sox (i did say the same thing about proctor a couple years ago b/c of his inability to throw strikes and after the 2nd game of this season after he walked the leadoff man v. oakland on i think 4 pitches).
BTW, Marco Scutaro finally repaid the yankees for that “gw hit” in the rain over Hideki’s head with his one out triple off “mr blister until i come to the red sox where my blisters magically disappear.
