This whole ARod saga has been an insult to our intelligence.

Hey, if someone wants to use this type of service, and it works for them, great. I'm all for that.

But, I don't want to hear from the guy who's providing the service, esp. when he's making dumb-ass statements like "August isn't over" when the date is 8/29 - and like "he's never had a slump" when the guy batted like a dog in June, etc.

That's just an insult to our intelligence.

I still don't see why it is such a big deal to people that ARod sees a therapist or has a coach like Jim Fannin.

As to where the days of "see the ball and hit the ball" have gone - the more access and scrutiny writers, reporters, tv and radio hosts, bloggers, and fans can get (inflict) on these guys, the farther away those days get.

When I play golf, my worst moment is always in the first tee box when the starter and the other players waiting to go after me are staring at me. It's hard for me to block out the 4-10 people watching me as I try to do something as hard as hit a little white ball down the center of the fairway. I don't think it's weird for guys, even pros, to need a little positive affirmation, especially when everyone's trying to tear you down...
