    From BP’s UTK:

Mariano Rivera had an MRI. Yankees fans, exhale. Rivera has a small strain in a muscle near his elbow and will need some rest. The Yankees can handle this and it’s certainly nothing to be overly concerned about. The Yankees wish they had more depth in the pen, or that Kyle Farnsworth was more reliable when he was needed. The Yankees know that Rivera has one episode like this each year. This one’s a bit later, but the Yankees have enough of a cushion in the division race to make this less of a factor than it could have been. Rivera knows that the time he’s needed is October. He’ll be ready. Again.

Further, I asked one of my connections “in the know” about Mo yesterday and this is what they were able to share:

He’s hurting, but he’s ok. He knows that he’ll have to rest much more than he is prepared to – not making him happy, but better now than later.

He was examined at Columbia Presbyterian by the doctor who did Matsui’s surgery. And, there’s truly nothing structurally wrong.

    Whew.

      thank you steve..

damn it, i knew i shouldnt have gotten my hopes up. I thought it would be a dumb move w/ the start of september and for just in case they do make the playoffs.
However, w/ the shit-fit he threw at the end of July, i figured the only team that was Scumbag enough to can him would be the red sox.

Errrrrr…… That is why MO pitched Thursday, after he had the MRI, and the MRI was interpreted.

Though you cant take anything from ESPN to be true, it says Mo was out for tonight against Minny with elbow stiffness.
Also, hopefully someone saw they way the blue jays handed the red sox another win. They had a chance in the 8th and Bengie Molina (which he’d do against no other team, especially not us) tried to tag from 2nd and go to 3rd and got thrown out & i dont even think he was.

And they balked in a run for them. Amazing stuff. Oh well.

nysupremacy – please watch your choice of words when posting here. We try and avoid profanity and the like. If it’s not something that you would say to someone that you’ve never met before, it’s probably not suitable for here. Thanks.
