If true, Proctor’s throwing 8 2/3 innings tonight.

I say the Yanks somehow win tonight. And Joe lets Proctor get the final out as a way of honoring his very fine season.

of course we should root against the red sox, if the twins can somehow pass the tigers, we will get to play johan and company in a 7 game series instead of a 5 game series.

Eh, it’s only the division title. No need to get too excited about it, unlike if you were, say, the Mets. Spring training team out there, and make sure the regulars get rested and healthy for October.

Sounds to me, that with your rules, if they clinch, I’ll be nice and sober.

This is really asking a lot of Henn. I can’t even remember the last time he started a game. After he came off the DL in Columbus, they used him strictly as a reliever. So I don’t know how many innings they expect to get out of him. His arm strength is not really there. He probably has not pitched more than two innings in four months. (So look for Beam, Veras and Myers — who suddenly pitches every day — to get action in the game, too.)

There’s going to be a complete “B” lineup tomorrow. No Jeter, no Giambi, no Posada. Halladay will probably pitch a CG two-hitter with this crew.

This could actually be a pretty fun game if you have a few buddies around. You know — drink a shot every time Wilson strikes out; drink a shot every time someone takes an extra base on Bernie’s arm; take two shots every time Henn walks someone (hey, I love Henn! — seriously!); take THREE shots every time Henn gives up a home run (no, for real, he’s my boy!); drink a shot whenever Kevin Thompson does something to prove he should be playing more often even though Torre is blind to it; take at least five shots for every righty Myers pitches to.

And so forth. If they clinch, you’ll be nice and wasted.

Not like the Cards’ have a real closer anyway…

Not like Pujol’s team is going anywhere in the playoffs seriously, whatever team they face they’ll lose to .. even if they end up facing the Phillies or something. they don’t stand a chance.
