   Dumb question from a Nebraska native. I have actually talked my future wife into taking our honeymoon next October in New York- at least for part of it (we just got engaged and she wants a fall wedding, right in the heart of the best time of year). How hard would it be to get playoff tickets, if they make it, from a scalper? I’ve never been to the Stadium so I figure if I’m going to go, might as well do it in style…

   It isn’t hard at all. You have to worry about buying counterfeit tickets, and you have to worry about cops.

   You’re better off trying to get through ticketmaster; I was able to score tix to the 2003 WS through ticketmaster.

   It’s not quite as easy anymore to get them through ticketmaster. They did a lottery this year, both online and at the Stadium. So you have to register for a chance to get tickets.

   If you don’t get lucky with ticketmaster, stubhub may be your best bet.

    Awesome, thanks guys. Do I have a great girl or what? Hopefully I can get her back into the game again, she was really into it during the 2001 playoff run (it took me awhile to pop the question, so what:) and I don’t think she ever recovered from that heartbreaking loss. So really, if you want to blame the last 5 years on anyone, blame it on her dating me.

    Stupid question, Steve and Jen, but what happens with those tix if (God forbid) the Yanks get bounced in the AL playoffs? I’ve never ordered playoff tickets, so I’m a bit confused as to how it works.

    Assuming they used a credit/debit card, the $$ would get credited to their acct (minus service fees, of course).

    It is my understanding that the template comes from MLB. Depending on the time the tickets are printed, the matchup may be unknown, but the playoff seeding may be known. Which is why You’ll get “ALDS gm 2 @ Yankee Stadium” for example
