I wonder how Yankees fans will feel if the club starts charging a “season-ticket license fee” for each seat in the new Stadium?

For those who don’t know, this type of fee is a “cover charge” (for lack of a better term) that you, as a season ticket holder, will have to pay for “the right” to purchase season tickets.

Such a fee could be in the hundreds or thousands of dollars – on top of the cost of the tickets.

I hope the Yankees don’t go for this – but it would not shock me to see it happen.

They’ll complain a bit, when it’s all said and done, if they don’t want to pay it, there will be someone else who will.

It’s called killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

This also presumes economic stasis, at the worst. It takes no account of economic bad times. Historically speaking, those bad times will happen. Sooner than later?

As long as they don’t sell naming rights to the Stadium.

They’ll get around that by selling the naming rights to the plaza that surrounds the Stadium.

You just know it’s going to be “Trump Plaza.”
