Mike Stanley

Any chance the Yankees could get him to come out of his “retirement” and be their new batting coach?

Wouldn’t he be a good fit for this team and coaching staff?

    How about as a player coach? We DO need a backup catcher…and he’s shown he can handle NY…AND he’s a Proven Veteran ™. It’s a no-brainer!

Joking aside, I would love to see Javier Valentin as a back-up to Posada in 2007 - if the Yankees could get him.

    How about Chili Davis?

He would be my 2nd choice after Stanley - I did consider him too.

Maybe they could hire Shane Spencer as a “special assistant to the hitting coach” each September?

Or if they need an Andro-coach.

Why Javier Valentin, Steve? He’s 31. Don’t you think the Yanks need to trade for a younger guy? Someone who could start to back Jorge up and learn from him the next couple of years?
