Not everyone is happy about the dust bowl that’s being created in the Bronx. Elaine Rivera of New York Public Radio has the story.

The report also notes that they won’t take down the old Stadium until the new one is open. Sounds like the mess will be around for quite a while.

Reminds me of renting a house one time where they decided to redo the roof — starting at 7 am. I worked until midnight. Needless to say, when our six month lease was up we moved.

In order to preserve the field, aren’t they going to have to be careful in taking down the old stadium?

FWIW, there has been something of a shift to field turf around NYC parks, so I wouldn’t be suprised to see the field there converted to the synthetic stuff.

I don’t know if they’re going to move the playing field across the street. Given that they’ve spent so much $$ recently to do it, I would think that they would keep it. But I wouldn’t be suprised if they didn’t.
