Thanks for sharing, Steve. Man, I can empathize. Back in the day, I was the youngest kid on my block and was ALWAYS getting punked by the older kids. Even when they included me in things like stickball, street football, etc., it was because they absolutely positively couldn’t find anyone else to even up teams. And well said re: Pavano.

Great story, Steve. It’s crazy how little things from childhood can stick with a person for their entire life. I’ll be honest, when I didn’t make the basketball team, which was something I wanted bad and frankly, deserved just as you deserved the route, I didn’t “take it like a man:)”
