How can you consider his home ERA after a total of four innings? You’re asking if a pattern could be continuing BASED on those four bad innings at home.

I think we can basically throw out Pavano’s ’05. He was injured. And he probably had a nice ERA on the road because — if I remember correctly — he faced three NL teams on the road (the Cards, the Brewers and the Mets).

Wrong. It’s a pattern based on his *entire* Yankees career, to date – albeit a short career as a result of his inability to pitch.

I would be very happy with 74 home runs from A-Rod this year and return that record to pinstripes.

There were some hard hit balls by the Twins, difference tonight is that the defense played real well.

Cuddyer (sp?) and Hunter (who hit a couple of absolute peas) had his number, but the rest of their lineup looked fairly off-balance.

I like the fact that he was very efficient with his pitches. If that’s a trend that he can continue, my preseason prediction just may come true. And I think you have to give some credit to the defense as well, for finally getting their shit together. Especially on the turf.

Don’t really agree, brock. In his last inning, they seemed to be squaring up the ball, but besides the double and a hit by Hunter, Pavano seemed to keep the ball off the fat of the bat and most of the balls were fairly harmless popups and grounders.

It should be noted that many of the balls hit in play by Min. hitters were absolutely smoked. But, overall, this is obviously a very positive sign.

Also, I can’t help but think that Tampa was perhaps the worst possible match-up for Carl. Lots of free swinger/speed demons to take advantage of his long windup.
