Can someone please tell me WHY they keep pitching to Ortiz with men on base? WHY WHY WHY? The HR he hit was a killer.

I am not worried about Boston, Schilling was not all that great and there were plenty of chances against Beckett until the bottom of the lineup came up to hit. The best pitcher in the series so far has been Pettitte and he should have been left in the other night.

~~~It's funny, Red Sox nation is absolutely obsessed with the Yankees. ~~~
Funny, I've talked to about 6 Sox fans so far this season, and they've all referred to their early place in the standings with a reference to the Yankees. It's never "We're in first" or "We're in second." It's always "We're tied with the Yankees" or "We're 2 games ahead of New York." So, I see your point.
Finally someone in Yankeeland is rational. People have to realize the Yanks have only played 16 games. So much panic and wanting someone's head is amazing to me.
Just got back from Fenway and boy are my arms tired.
Quick note, Cashman was among the regular people, one section over from me, probably about the tenth row right behind the Ump. I've got a picture.
Anyways, the crowd was pretty decent to me, normal taunting. I sat next to some really good baseball fans (they were Sox fans)and we had a good time. It's funny, Red Sox nation is absolutely obsessed with the Yankees. I really don't think the feeling is mutual. It was funny as they all got excited when Papelbon came out - the place erupted. But I couldn't help but think exactly what steve posted; if we had Matsui, Damon, or Posada, this game would have been much different.
It was funny to hear the Sox fans taunt A-Rod. "You suck!" "You've got nothing!" "Jeter could have done it" and the best, "You suck this year!"
Anyways, it's April so I can live. Though it would have been fantastic if Bobby got on in the 9th and A-Rod came up and hit a HR. The place would have gone silent.
Anyways, here's to the DL comebacks!
I realize that Karstens was less than stellar today, but I really wish Joe would start stretching the starters a little bit - especially the fringy ones like Rasner, Karstens, and Wright. Otherwise, this bullpen is going to be toast by mid-July.
