You’re right, Torre’s no smug, pompous jerk. Always the gentleman, he could be seen waving to Terry Francona from the Yankees dugout before the first game in Fenway in April, a genuine smile on his face. The look of incredulity on Francona’s face at that gesture was priceless.

Hell No! to Bobby V. A smug, pompous jerk. Just what the Yankees need. I wouldn’t mind keeping Torre as manager, just have a good bench coach (Bowa, Pena?) to handle the in game stuff. Torre can manage the clubhouse & media.

Now if Jeter was still friends with A-Rod, he’d be the one getting photographed, thus letting Alex off the hook.
