A WasWatching.com reader sent me an e-mail with a picture of today’s Boston Herald:

(By the way, lately, I’m getting tons of e-mails from readers sending me links, stories, picture, opinions, etc. – which is awesome, because it tells me that folks read this blog and care about what’s going on with the Yankees. But, it’s so many that I can’t answer all of them with any detail/thought. So, from now on, I’m just going to send a note back that says “Thanks!” I hope you all don’t mind. I just wanted to say it here, now, so you know why you get such a reply in the future. O.K., back to this picture in question….)

Redsox troops rally against forces of Evil?

Man, those people up there have some serious issues. Forces of Evil? You just have to shake your head at that and have pity for their twisted minds.

Yeah. Just look at Cano…you can see the fires of hell burning right behind his eyes.

Yeah, from that angle it also looks like he’s going to strike Lowell with the ball… lol

That was a nice completion of the DP, tho

I’ve never read it, but I believe the boston herald is a rag; worse then the daily news or the post. Seriously, is that UFC on the back page?! LOLOLOLOLOL

Let me tell you, I live in Rhode Island and these people are absolutely nuts. They take their love for the Red Sox way too far. I seriously think some of them would hurt or kill over their team. The sad thing is there are alot of “fans” who have been sucked into the whole Red Sox thing and they don’t really know anything about baseball but it’s just the popular thing to do, to be this crazy obsessed Red Sox fan. It’s scary, haha.

What’s so pathetic about this is that the people here (I live in Boston, walking distance from Fenway Park) feel they need to “fight back” against a team that’s looking up at them from 12 games back.

      Get over it already!

I commented to mr. carla yesterday as we were watching the Red Sox piss and whine about everything the Yankees did that it’s a real tragedy that the miserable attitude of the fans is infectious to the players on that team. As baseball players they know better than to cry and moan about the conduct of a team that’s 12 games behind them. But the fans’ constant inferiority complex just rubs off on them.

And don’t even get me started about the glee with which that picture of Lowell shouldering Cano is being displayed here – like the picture from a couple years back of a Varitek – in his mask – punching A-Rod in the face. Just imagine the uproar if that was Cano shouldering Lowell instead! I wouldn’t hate the Red Sox on their own – they’re just a bunch of baseball players – but the collective attitude of Red Sox Nation disgusts me.

I think it’s funny. Eh, it’s a tabloid. I’m willing to bet the front page headline is something equally inflammatory.

So A-Rod saying “Ha” or whatever is bad in itself, and because it might lead two fielders 10 feet apart to collide & get injured (total BS, in my view), yet this is o.k.?

Sorry, total bullshit on the Red Sox.

I was watching some of the game yesterday with my fiance, and when they clapped as Rico was carted off, she thought it was nice. I said “yeah, they’d kill a Yankee if they had half a chance.” And I almost believe it. “Forces of Evil.” “Evil Empire.” That stuff is so ridiculious, but I’m sure John Henry will have an e-mail condeming Lowell trying to send Cano into outer space any minute now.

As far as UFC, this stuff is everywhere, it was on the cover of SI and it’s getting covered in espn now. I don’t see the big fuss about it (give me a good boxing fight anyday), but it’s the in thing right now.

Jeremy, I might have posted about this here before – I don’t remember – but when Corey Lidle’s plane crashed into that building and the news was just breaking, one of the clerks in my office shouted “See? I told you – this just proves that all Yankees are terrorists and should be killed and destroyed!”

Oh, sure, she was “joking,” but I’m sorry – who the hell says that?

The worst part is that I’m sure there were Yankees fans who cracked similar jokes about Jon Lester’s cancer. That’s what I hate most about the so-called rivalry – it brings out the very worst in both cities, in all of us.
