Jose Reyes and David Wright of the Mets play dress up for GQ:

(Hat tip to Yankees and Rangers.)

Wright and Reyes are a regular real-life version of the Butabi brothers, huh?

Hey, not that the Yankees are above this stuff…Jeter’s got his perfume, and A-Rod likes to sun topless in the park, etc. But, still, those are some swell getups for David and Jose.

If the Yankees are the Bronx Zoo, maybe the Mets should be called the Queens Zoolanders?

I like those guys, I don’t have a problem with their dress or anything they do. Just cause they play for the Mets doesn’t make them villains, at least not for me. If they were cocky a-holes then that’d be different story. They are good guys and I’m glad the Mets have a couple of guys they can feel passionate about. I only worry about the Mets 6 times throughout the year, I find whatever they accomplish or don’t accomplish has little or nothing to do with the Yankees. If the Yankees had a way of preventing them from succeeding, then that’d be a different story. I hardly consider them a rival, they are just the other baseball team that plays in NY.

      BTW, I think that’s a cool picture.

They should dress like lumberjacks and only allow themselves be photographed eating raw beef. Nancy Boys.

SteveB–that’s one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a while–not funnier than “Nobody puts Baby [Wil Nieves] in the corner,” but certainly gives me a funny image.

David Wright bugs the hell out of me. And the look on his face in this picture just makes me want to kick him really hard in the shin. I have no problem with Jose Reyes, and he’s not really “acting” in this pciture, but David Wright is trying to be all tough in this picture and I just want to throw something at him.
