Selig: June 19th Is D-Day For Giambi

This, according to the USA Today:
Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig is heading toward suspending Jason Giambi next week if the New York Yankees slugger does not cooperate with former senator George Mitchell’s investigation on steroid use, according to a high-ranking MLB official.
The official, who talked with Selig but has not been granted permission to speak publicly because of ongoing talks, said Selig wants Giambi’s decision by Tuesday.
Which one was Giambi again?

I hate Selig. I hate everything about him. I’m with Giambi.
BTW, just read this at rotoworld:
The Minneapolis Star Tribune suggests that the Twins could be interested in acquiring Mike Lowell.
The newspaper reports that “it’s believed the Red Sox would be willing to eat a chunk of” Lowell’s salary and adds that “there are some whispers that Boston would like to move Kevin Youkilis to third base and go after the Texas Rangers’ Mark Teixeira.”
This will be a nice little courtroom drama if Selig tries it. I predict Selig will be handed his ass by the court.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be so flip about this, Steve. Selig will have a war on his hands. He is basically blackmailing Giambi to legitimize his stupid investigation.
Also, Giambi’s comments were not specific enough as to what, where and when. He has no case, but he’s going to go forward with this anyway, simply because he wants to appear tough on ‘roids users.
Just Selig-the-Lesser trying and cover his own a$p. He was blithely ignorant all through the mid and late nineties and into the new century. He didn’t care as long as the turnstiles were turning.
History will remeber him as a do-nothing. That and his obsession with Jackie Robinson.
The sports reporters share equal blame in their blithe ignorance. They knew it smelled bad in 1997 but put on their respirators and attacked anyone who dared mention steroids.
