Actually I'm kind of looking forward to Igawa's return. This will be kind of supreme test of how effective the pitching coaches we have in the minors actually are.

I'm sure Igawa is a fairly malleable student and a devoted practice fanatic as all Japanese ballplayers are. So for a month to tinker with his mechanics, I wonder what the coaching geniuses have come up with. Best coaches that money can buy, my friends.

I too mourn the return of Tyler to the minors. Rasner and Karstens were more predictable products this year but I felt of all the youngsters in the system that Tyler, our Yankee Clippard, had a little magic on his side.

The time spent on Farnsworth shows you how high up in the organization the committment goes.

But, hey, your not saying Farnsie in the playoffs won't be fun? On run lead, he comes in gives up a line drive hit and walks two and then gets the next two outs on infield liners AND STILL Joe doesn't make a move. This is the guy you gave me for the eighth, I dare you to watch, Cashman...

No one on the Yanks has given me more occasion to fall on my knees in prayer than the Man From Kansas. Strike three, he pumps his fist and walks off the mound. Is this what divine love is?

I just hope Farns has some good outings before the deadilne so we can get something - anything - for him. If we're fortunate enough to finally fight back to playoff contention, his is one name I'd like to not notice on the roster. Bruney and Proctor, if not overused, can handle the 8th. The big guy needs a change of scenery.

Another reason to call him Salty:

Perhaps we can pretend that, prior to the season, Cashman could've pulled off a coup by shipping him back to Atlanta for the real Salty. It can be our own little WasWatching river in Egypt.
