Another good thing is that Ramirez has the ability to throw up more than an inning of work on any given day. Heck, before his callup he threw 3 perfect innings at Scranton. I would love for him to get significant time in the bullpen. He’s still pretty young, and he won’t be pitching high-pressure situations for a while. He won’t get overused.

I feel like I’ve been screaming about Ramirez for months. He finally gets the callup, and then lives up to the hype by striking out the side in his debut. How rare is it for an event to live up to your expectations?

I suppose it’s annoying that his success comes with a wrinkle (will Torre overuse him or not use him at all?), but it’s good to know we might have another option in the bullpen besides Proctor who can come in and get outs before the ninth inning. I hope Myers or Villone are canned and Britton comes up, too.

Yeah, if lefties are going to pound Myers, he is useless.
