"Mike Mussina needs to pitch very well today."

=================================================

Well good luck on that thought. He hasn't had his necesssary 5 days rest. It's almost 10, I think. That puts him way out of sorts. I can already hear his cranky post-game remarks.

I don't get it. I simply don't get it. What is it going to take for Torre to stop using Farnsworth in the eighth? Torre is normally an emotional and petty sort of fellow. You would have thought Farns showing him up on the mound would have been the last straw. But no -- there he was again, nearly blowing a game.

I don't exactly know why, but Farnsworth is having one of his worst years ever. I know people hated him last year, but he was actually effective. This year, people are teeing off on him and he's not striking people out. They should try to trade him, but even if they don't, they need to get him out of the eighth inning. Seriously -- whenever he comes into a game with less than a five-run lead, you know the tying run will make it to the plate.

Also, did Edwar Ramirez lose a little more weight and become invisible?

This is one of those situations where he hasn't pitched in forever and Torre will call on him in an important situation and he'll have no control and blow a game. (Though in a perfect world Eddie would flourish and the team would allow him and Britton to become part of the bullpen and get rid of Farns and Myers.)

A root beer win is always nice - brought to you by A&W (Abreu & Wang).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
ugh lol :P
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, the Yankees are now again a .500 team - at 44 and 44. They're 9 games back of Boston, in the loss column. And, New York is 7 games back, loss-column-wise, in the Wildcard chase. It would be better for them to get that 9 and 7 down to 5 over the next two weeks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
they can pick 2 up pretty quick with that make up in baltimore
