Francona & Boras July 16th vs. The Blue Jays
Jul 16

From the Globe and Mail -

Will New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez get called out for yelling out? The Blue Jays will provide the answer tonight in New York, as they open an important four-game series at Yankee Stadium.

Rodriguez’s named turned to mud the last time the Yankees faced the Blue Jays, after he yelled an undetermined word while running the bases. He apparently did so to intentionally distract a Toronto infielder trying to make a play – a major breach of major-league etiquette.

The question remaining is whether the Yankees’ third baseman, who will face Jays pitcher Josh Towers tonight, will also face retribution for his sins.

“You know what, I’ll react to it when I see it,” Toronto catcher Gregg Zaun responded when asked yesterday whether the Blue Jays might have any payback in store for the Yankees’ star in the first game between the two American League teams since the infamous incident.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know really how strongly guys feel about it at this point. It’s been a long time since it happened.

“Right now, we’re more focused on winning baseball games than anything else.”

[Howie] Clark, who was front and centre when the initial incident occurred, predicted cooler heads will prevail.

“As far as I’m concerned it’s over,” Clark said.

I’m more curious as to what Kei Igawa will do if the Jays do decide to buzz Alex tonight. It will be an interesting decision for him.

Maybe Kei Igawa will throw at someone’s head and get suspended for the rest of the season.
