I thought this was a pretty cool picture of the Stadium. I “liberated” it from a Reuters report about the increasing costs of the new digs.

This is pretty much where I sat, behind the plate, upper-upper-deck, for the “Getcha Tokens Ready!” game. It was a great section to be in – in terms of the view and the surrounding fans – for a game of that excitement.

I sat in those seats, or in the vicinity, for the final game of the 2001 ALCS, and then I was at games 4 and 5 of the 2001 World Series in those same seats.

I was sitting there with my brother and friends, I remember for game 5 of the ALCS I was sitting next to this guy who is/was a guest service host for the Mariners. He said that he got tix from the Steibrenner family because he’s their cook whenever the Yanks visit SafeCo. He was suppose to go with his daughter who lived in NY, but she couldn’t make it. The seat between us was empty and he was a really cool guy. I remember he took pictures of my entire crew and actually mailed it to us, along with another picture of him holding the front page of the next day’s newspaper. The pic is hanging by my desk and I look at it with some great memories.

Game 5 of the 2001 ALCS was probably the most fun I ever had at the stadium. I remember it being just one big party for that pennant clinching game. I’m sure that 9/11 played a big part in why it was one big party. Nevertheless, it was more fun than I ever had at a Yankee game.

The funny thing is that I’ve never had the chance to sit in that area again since 2001.

I was at the “Getcher Tokens Ready” game. My mom and I were sitting out in section 34 in the tier boxes. David Justice’s home run is one of my favorite Yankee moments.

Heh, Jason Phillips is available… Too bad the Yanks have a BUC already.

Garcia: I was at game 5 of the 2k1 ALCS sitting near the back row of the LF bleachers near the black.

That game wasn’t nearly as fun as the Jeffrey Maier game in 96 when I sat in Section 39.

I was there for G5 of the 2001 ALCS too – in the Loge. I can still hear the chants of ‘Oak-land’s Bet-ter’ if I think about it.

I was at that game, in the LF upper deck.

Pretty good game, but not as good as the second game of the 1995 ALDS. By far the best playoff game I attended.
