• Wildcard Not Locked Down Until September 26th?

If the Wildcard race ends up being between New York and Seattle, and it remains close, one thing to remember is that the M’s have two games from April that were called for snow – and yet to be played. One of those games will be made-up on August 30th. The other is rescduled for September 26th – 5 days before the end of the season.

In fact, the Mariners catch a break with that September 26th make-up game, as it will be a “road game” that will now be played in Seattle (instead of Cleveland).

Then again, if the Yankees can pull ahead of the M’s in the ‘card chase, and put something a half-dozen games between them, the fact that Seattle has more games left to play, now, than the Yankees, will be somewhat moot.
