Holy crap. How bad is it that I was at the freaking game and I still thought that it was Burnett pitching today.

Well I would rather have the Yankees thinking WC and getting the rotation in order and resting the regulars, than burning everyone just to try and get the division.

Based on how much he’s using him, I think Torre like Veras. Maybe we need the Veras Rules too now? J/K.

Veras is interesting. When they first signed him, he was billed as a fireballer. He did well in AAA, but when he got called up he was clocked normally at 88-91. Now he’s 94-96. And he didn’t pitch that much this year because of injury. Is he back to his normal velocity? Was the gun just out of whack at the time? I only saw him briefly last year, but he seems like a much more effective pitcher this year.
