Peter Abraham is reporting that Roger Clemens cannot pitch for the Yankees this evening – and is being replaced by Kei Igawa.

Makes sense – if Carl Pavano can pitch on Opening Day, why not have Igawa go on the night where you can clinch a playoff berth? It’s the perfect bookends for this wacky season.

Well, either this is a good thing and they are afforded the chance to rest Clemens instead of riding him to the ground like they felt they had to with Randy Johnson in close races the last 2 years; or, the rest is irrelevant and we’re going to see another injured starter put in a big spot and blow it.

Steve, off-topic, but I have to ask you…

I just got an e-mail saying I have the opportunity to buy Yankee tickets for the playoffs…

      My questions are this:

      1. How much does the prices of the tickets increase during the ALDS and the ALCS?

      2. Do they give refunds if the Yankees don’t make it to that round of the playoffs?

      Thank you!

B – huge increase in the post-season. Not sure on the refunds. Check the Yankee site. I can’t see how they would not refund you.

Back in 2000, I had tickets to Game 7 of the ALCS and got a refund to my charge card from TicketMaster – but, that was 7 years ago.

I know that season ticket holders, like me now, get a credit towards next year’s tickets.
