Yanks & Angels To Meet In ALCS This Year?

These stats suggest that the Indians do not play well against good teams – at least this season. And, that, when facing the best, the Angels are up to the task.
If the Yankees face the Indians in the ALDS, and the Angels play the Red Sox, we might be looking at a Yankees-Angels ALCS in 2007.
In a way, it makes little difference. With such a shallow bullpen and a manager who has no idea how to make due with a weak bullpen, the Yankees and us fans, I’m afraid, are going to have to be satisfied with just making the post-season this year. I’m already starting to prepare myself for the disappointment.
This is nice to see. We always heard of how the Yankees only ‘beat up on bad teams’, but it looks like that’s Cleveland’s role this year.
The two losses in a row can really dim your view of the Yankees ‘chances’ in the postseason, but try and remember that, at least yesterday, the Yankees put their ‘B’ pitching squad out there. You won’t see any of those guys in a tough spot in the postseason. Sans their outing vs. Litsch, the offense continues to impress and be the most consistent,and consistently good, offense in baseball.

No, I just think that Torre and a weak Yankee bullpen is a lethal combination. In addition, I’m just pessimistic as a result of the last six post-seasons.
And, in the only games against good teams relevant to the Angels opening round series, the Red Sox are 26-18 vs. the Angels, since 2003, having not lost a season’s series in any of the five seasons.
The best the Angels have done is a 3-3 split in 2006, losing the other 4 series.
