Of course, if Wang goes 6 and gives up a ton of runs, I doubt he's at 80 pitches anyway. But Veras is still the last guy out of the bullpen. I'm convinced Torre sees Scottie Proctor in him. Same kind of stuff, same repertoire, he says he's 'very impressed' with his stuff, it could be a brand new Sturtzian love affair.

If it's a tight game in the 6th, I wouldn't worry about Joe bringing in the last guy in the bullpen. Veras is there for blowouts in the later innings. Say Wang goes 6, and only has 80 pitches, but the Yanks are up or down by 6. Then you'd see Veras, so Wang could possibly pitch Game 4 on short rest. He's not for tight situations, and I think Joe knows that at least.

I'm kind of suprised to see Veras on the roster, I thought Villone would definitely be on there. I guess they've completely abandonded the lefty on lefty matchups.

I'm glad to see Ohlendorf on the roster too, he has shown some pretty nasty stuff since he's come up.

I can't wait for this game tonight, it's like torture to Yankees and Indians fans that they started this series on Thursday and all the other games got to start Wednesday.
