I will say this, though: if A-Rod had those same stats and the team were still 4-11 in their past 15 playoff games since Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, everyone would use the argument that A-Rod accumulates stats in losses and that his numbers are therefore hollow. I'm not saying that about Jeter, I'm simply pointing out that A-Rod would be lambasted either way. He's never going to get people to lay off him. They hate him or they're jealous of him (or both). It sucks and it's terribly unfair but that's just how it is.
