ROOKIE QUALIFICATIONS:
A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has:(1) Exceeded 130 at bats or 50 innings pitched in the major leagues, or(2) Accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a major league club or clubs during the period of the 25-man roster (excluding time in military service).
By the letter of the law, Joba Chamberlain is still a “rookie” next season. It will be interesting to see how he does in the race for the 2008 A.L. Rookie of the Year Award.

No love for Thurman?
I only was counting pitchers. Note, no Jeter mentioned either.
