I’m attempting to put together a list of all the recent Yankees pitching prospects who have undergone Tommy John surgery. I know about:
Alan Horne
Andrew Brackman
Christian Garcia
Humberto Sanchez
J. Brent Cox
Jason Stephens
Lance Pendleton
Mark Melancon
Am I forgetting someone else? Thanks in advance.

J.B. Cox didn’t have full-blown TJS. And Horne, if it matters, had his TJS while in college.

Yeah, I should have noted that Cox had his ligament repaired but not replaced. But, it’s still pretty close to TJS. Same underlying issue – just a tweak on the fix.

The Yankees minor leagues have been TJS central. No doubt. Just thought I’d add the two notes about the guys listed that I knew about.

Is Mariano Rivera a pitching prospect?

Not any more J – and neither is Pavano.

What happened to Stephens? He pitched one season (2004), had the surgery, and hasn’t thrown an inning since. And of course Pendleton had TJ, he went to Rice.
