Rasner's a Yankee NRI. I suspect the others may go that route.

Wow, feels good to talk about baseball for a second here and not steroids. I think all three are big leaguers, even if Beam might be nothing more than a generic righty reliever and DeSalvo a longman. Rasner is a legit number-five starter. They don't really need him anymore, but he was a great pickup and it's too bad it seemed like Torre was always trying to find a way to get him out of the rotation. I wouldn't be shocked if his former team, the Nats, picked him up.

A shocking fall for Beam, if you think about it. Once one of the most promising relief arms in the system and now out of it. This was a kid who went from AA to the majors one year, dominating the minors (only to get hit around in the pros), and now they've cut him. He also lost some time to injury and had a late development start, which meant he was getting old.

Anyway, hope he finds success elsewhere.

Kinda bummed to see Rasner & DeSalvo go, but they were spare parts, and thus expendable.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone took a flyer on Beam either.

Bruney stays, which isn't surprising. A pitcher with a power arm will always get a chance to prove themselves.

So I assume this means Pavano did not accept the deal? What a worthless piece of garbage. Well, enjoy your well deserved full pension, Pavano, it's clear you didn't have the desire to try to get that 11 days of service time by actually being on a roster, so good for you.
