<description>It would depend on how everyone do[es] this year...
__

Exactly. If at least two of the big three do well, and Cash retains (or solidifies) his power base in conjuction with Hal (and equally as important, Sabathia pitches well and remains healthy), I think the Yankees will probably pass on Sabathia, although they could become engaged in the process, if only to raise the price for other teams.

If at least two of the big three struggle in some way, and Cash loses power and/or his job, Hank will whip out his checkbook and once again remind everyone who&#039;s the boss, assuming of course that he can make unilateral moves without Hal&#039;s consent, which I seriously doubt.

Other factors in the calculus could be: does Pettitte pitch well and return; does Wang pitch well; does another prospect like Sanchez, Horne, or even Brackman appear ready to join the rotation, if necessary.

With all that in mind, Sabathia would be well advised to have a salad now and then.

<description>It would depend on how everyone do this year. though I&#039;m actually not against giving him a significant contract... 7 year probably not. but maybeeee 5.

looking from the other perspective. EVERYONE can get hurt. he&#039;s a guy people EXPECT to get hurt but really hasn&#039;t gottten hurt (signficantly anyway, two other guys in this catagory are K-rod and D-train) . in another word he might be a guy where the crowd overrate the risk.
