I was looking at buying tickets for a Pittsburgh Pirates game this summer; not necessarily for when the Yankees are there, but maybe when the Mets are in town in August. I thought I was reading it wrong when it told me the seats right behind home plate were $47, but sure enough, it was the case… infield box seats behind home plate for $47; unbelieveable what we pay in the Bronx, and we just pay it without questioning.

The Yankees increases from 1994 through 1998
      and from 2005 through 2008
are just obscene from a 3-year standpoint.

To go from $17 to $45 in 3 years, and,
to go from $90 to $250 in 3 years
      is just criminal.

Criminal? Was a gun to your head when you paid your invoice?

And, before someone goes on about the less fortunate and the “kids”, the Yankees have always had at least 5 or 6 $5 days; student discounts on Tuesdays; and special Thursday discounts as well. What’s more, if you are a season ticket holder, you also receive 5 coupons that either allow you to purchase Tier Reserve tickets for $5 or Tier Box and Lower Reserve for half price.

In other words, it is still affordable to go a game if you plan it well. Otherwise, the Yankees are charging what the market will bear.
