The Cubs have one thing working against them: Lou Piniella. His lineups are odd and his faith in Kerry Wood as a closer is ludicrous when Carlos Marmol is sitting right there. Having said that, the NL is wide open so any team that finishes with a .500 or better record can be considered a contender.
