You want to pay close to $30M for a guy with a career ERA+ of 110? That’s a lot of money to pay for a little bit better than league average.

I’m not saying he’s the worst thing in the world but I don’t know that I’d trade prospects for him. At the very least, Texas would have to pay a big portion of his salary for me to even consider it.

As far as the Rich Harden idea is concerned: HELL NO. He’s talented but there’s no honor in having all that talent sitting on your DL for close to 45 days a season. Why trade anything to Oakland to get them out from under that headache?

Millwood very much intrigues me. The guy is a horse and he has pitched in a pitchers’ graveyard in Texas for the past 2+ years.

You could pencil him in for around 200IP and 15 wins with a team like the Yanks.

Mussina has been pitching good enough for now to go along with Wang and Petitte, that the Yanks can afford to wait and see what happens with Hughes and Kennedy before they make any moves.

Ken Rosenthal? Puh-leeze. That man has yet to utter a kind word about the Yankees in the length and breadth of his professional life. Plus, he looks like a stalker, hunkered down the way he is behind the home dugout on the FOX Saturday game every week.

Horne, Heredia and Vecchionacci for Harden? He can’t have that much value with his health history.

Basically, just another scenerio in which a stink-ass team has an overpriced veteran they’d like to pawn off, and the Yankees have money to burn, so why not assume they’d be interested, so thats what will be written.

IMO, I’d rather take a gamble at moving a couple prospects and hope Rich Harden stays healthy than move valuable prospects for Millwood.

Or if the Yankees have even the most remote of thoughts about moving AJackson or JTabata, you make a run at a pitcher like Roy Oswalt, not Kevin Millwood.

But Cashman wouldnt move either for Johan, so what makes Rosenthal or anyone think he’d do so for Kevin Millwood?
